The licenced Club held its’ AGM on Sunday 15th August, 2010 and the following people were elected.
 
President – David Key
Vice Presidents – Ruby Dening & Neville Lalor
Treasurer – Andrew Frater
Directors –  Mick Perrin, Barry Birch, Marty Hyland, Bob Burns & Merle Williams.
 
Congratulations on the above people who now are responsible to ensure your Club continues its’ success.
 
The Board at its’ first meeting elected Ruby Dening as Honorary Secretary.
 
At this meeting the Board has approved the new increases in drinks which will come into effect from Friday 3rd September, 2010. The increase in a middy will be 10 cents while a schooner will rise 20 cents with most other drinks rising by similar amounts. On this day the new cash registers will commence operation and for members to receive their discount they will need to produce their membership card. There will be a moratorium on producing your card for 1 month but commencing from Friday 1st October, 2010 no card no discount.
 
At the AGM members complained about the swearing that has become prevalent in the Club. The Board has decided that if anyone is caught swearing they will be warned once and then if it continues they will be asked to leave. If a member is responsible for the swearing then they will be cited to appear before the Board who will consider want disciplinary action is warranted. A non member caught swearing will be refused further entry to the Club.
 
The Board at this meeting has decided that payouts from Keno and poker machines can be given in cash up to $2,000, The previous limit was $1,000. This new amount is permitted by the Liquor and Gaming Act.
 
The Board has requested that the interested parties who submitted quotes for the renovation of the bar be requested to resubmit their quotes for consideration.
 
The annual Ruby Dening Shield is to be held this Sunday 22nd August, 2010. commencing at 12.30 pm. Come and watch some good bowls held in a very friendly atmosphere.
 
On Sunday 19th September, 2010 the Lawson Women bowlers are organising a “Pink Lady” day to raise money for breast cancer. All members please keep an eye on the notice board for further information.

The Men’s Bowling Club has finalised some of its’ 2010 championships and the following are to be congratulated on their success. In a very close game Bob Burns defeated Denis Foley to win the Minor Singles while the team of Mick O’Donnell, Paul Roberts & Mick Perrin were successful in winning the triples title. This victory came on the last bowl delivered by the perennial bridesmaid Mick Perrin. The four champions this year are Denis Foley, Bob Burns, Paul Roberts & skippered by that ever man of hunger Mick Stanbury.
